Colgate was founded in 1819, initially called the Baptist Education Society of the State of New York. Though no longer BESSNY (we'll stick with that as an acronym), the school does have a rich history as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. In athletics, Colgate has a share of the 1932 football title for its undefeated season.
